Mowth was born out of want. A craving for connection.  To a lover and in a tangible exercise of proof.

To another artist that understands your painful existence.

Music is expression.

It’s the heavy strangulation in your chest when words won’t cut the guttural scream that lashes out.  You are born mumbling. You find words. Realize that words have meaning and you lace them together to make sense of your feelings. These etchings carve your reality.

Deep in your gut, your soul, your bones. You ache to tell your story, be witnessed, have validation to your existence. It comes out of your mouth into the air, coloring time with its preciseness. If you fail in your expression,(which I dunno a single person who isn’t absolutely frustrated by being misunderstood), most of the time. .. It doesn’t matter, the nuance of the music will make up for the lack.  And the meaning will be heard differently for every single set of ears it floats into.

This body is an expression, that needs an outlet. Needs to be shared, encountered. This human experience is tolerated instead of survived and your voice actually really really fucking matters. So use it.  Thats Mowth. If we refuse to use what we have been given- To shake the cobwebs out of our lungs and share our scars?

we suffer.

The world needs to hear what I have to say. The world also needs to hear what you have to say. Use your Mowth. Take off the muzzle and scream.

Mowth is made up of two couples who came together to make an Alt punk band called Mowth. In 2018, Jordan, a singer and song writer, had recently broken ties to his old band and record label and started to write music with his wife, Rachel. After an accident, Rachel was left with an 8 month concussion where she could only play with analog items. With no sense left, she threw out all excuses and decided to live her childhood dreams and they formed Mowth. In 2019, Jordan met Zac while mixing sound for a cover band Zac was drumming for. He invited Zac to come jam. Zac invited his wife, Callie to play bass, who, lucky for us is an incredible singer and songwriter as well. Long story long, and they've been besties and playing music since.

Mowth's first EP album, 'New Religion', is old punk, pop licks, and heavy 808s reverberating through 6 songs. teasing religious symbolism, the EP exposes systems within their upbringing that bred shame, and silenced truth, while calling out corruption and greed.

in 2022, Mowths second EP, 'Vagabondage' was a growth spurt from lost adolescence. a riotous dance punk party. poking holes in the facade of capitalism. reclaiming their autonomy, chasing joy despite the burden of responsibility and riding through the waves of adulthood. Enjoy some rockabilly riffs and slide guitar in this groovy record.

After some health issues and family loss, Mowth reduced appearances and worked on producing new material for a new album.

'Apocalypse Soup' is a full length album set to release in 2027 on Vinyl.
